| While on a voyage from Turku, Finland to Stockholm, Sweden she ran aground on the rocky, southern shore of the island of Uto in the Baltic Sea which is a small island in a larger archipelago of islands off the southwest coast of Finland. She had previously called at Chicago, Illinois, USA on the Great Lakes and was partially loaded with a cargo of 287 tonnes of bagged asbestos. Salvage was deemed impossible due to the remote location of her grounding and she was reportedly cut up for scrap on site some years later.. |
