Description
Launched as Baltic Sea.

In March 2017, the BBC Shanghai became stuck in East London, South Africa, after suffering an engine failure. Having been used for shipping radioactive waste from France to Australia, serious concern about contamination were raised, beginning in 2015. Following the loss of the engine, the ship was sold for recycling. A French environmental group requested that the ship be subjected to a radiological diagnosis, at the expense of the shipowner, and decontamination in a European shipbreaking yard. In September the ship was renamed Long Bob and towed to Alang, India.
