Change Description:Converted to a bulk carrier by Maryland Dry Dock Company (Baltimore, Maryland). A new midbody was constructed by Ingalls Shipbuilding Company (Pascagoula, Alabama) and towed to Baltimore. The sections were towed to Chicago, Illinois; up the Mississippi River and the sections were joined, to complete the conversion.
