Description
On 12 June 1978 while on a voyage from Baie Comeau, Quebec, Canada bound for Tunis, Tunisia YELLOWSTONE was involved in a collision with IBN BATOUTA approximately 14 nautical miles southeast of Gibraltar on the Mediterranean Sea. 5 members of her crew were lost as a result. She was taken in tow the following day however succumbed to her damage and sank in a position 35.44N by 3.51 W. Salvage was not attempted.
