Description
She was gutted aft by fire which broke out in her engine room on 13 August 1982 when she was about 12 miles off Piraeus, Greece during a voyage from Port Said, Egypt for Piraeus. She was abandoned by most of her crew and was later brought into Piraeus under tow on 14 August 1982. Upon inspection she was found to be damaged beyond the point of economical repair and was subsequently abandoned as a constructive total loss. She languished at anchor off Piraeus Roads, Greece for some time before being moved to Eleusis where she awaited her fate. On 29 February 1984 she departed Eleusis under tow and arrived at Split, Yugoslavia on 6 March 1984 for demolition.
