Description
Struck submerged object on 14 July 1965 off Brazil in a position (33.03S / 52.27W) while enroute from Chimbote, Peru to Rio Grande, Brazil with a cargo of salt. Arrived at Rio Grande leaking on 17 July 1965 with hull damage and main engine out of alignment. Later declared a constructive total loss and subsequently retired from service. Scrapped at Porto Alegre, Brazil - arrival date at the scrapyard is unknown.
