Description
Grounded on November 11, 1979 at the entrance to Silver Bay, Minnesota. On the way to load iron ore, she missed the entrance to the channel in heavy weather, with the entrance light not operating. The ship was refloated on November 24th and sailed to Superior, Wisconsin on November 29th. The hull was determined to have been damaged beyond repair and she was abandoned to the underwriters as a constructive total loss.
