FERNIE was built at Midland in 1929. Her boilers and engine were built at Port Arthur for the steamer GLENAFTON in 1921, which was wrecked as LAMBTON in Lake Superior in December, 1927. LAMBTON was salvaged, but never operated again as a steamship, losing her engines and boilers to the new FERNIE.
