This small tug was built in 1942 by Muir Brothers Drydock as the Wokboat No. 8 for the Canadian Dredge & Dock Company, and she was later renamed Halton. She was eventually sold to McCormack Marine, where she retained her name. She was later acquired by Kehoe Marine Construction of Lansdowne, ON.
