CCGS Henry Larsen - Sorel-Tracy, Québec - February 25, 1993 |
|
Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker Henry Larsen as shown while pulling away from the Tracy dock (near Sorel) on February 25, 1993. Her bowtruster and bubbler system are hard at work as can be seen here. I took this slide during the great February ice jam which blocked shipping traffic on the St. Lawrence River for a month. When I photographed the Larsen, her rudder was jammed solid by ice at an angle of 5 degrees. She had to proceed to Sorel in reverse to reach a dock where the problem could be resolved. |
