As Siddiq-class patrol gunboat Abu Obaidah (PCC-527) the last of nine sisters built in the early 1980s by Peterson Shipbuilders for the Saudi Navy is shown shortly after exiting the St. Lambert Lock downbound on November 27, 1982 on her delivery trip from the builders. The white covered system on the quarter deck is a Vulcan Phalanx CIWS 6 barrel 20mm gun one of the first installed on a foreign naval vessel. |
