Pierre Radisson (CCGS) - Lake Erie, Canada - April 15, 2014 |
|
NGCC Pierre Radisson approaching a beset Canadian Coast Guard ship - Samuel Risley. The ship, along with others, was stuck in heavy ice and required an icebreaker to move. Pierre Radisson passes the beset icebreaker, then backs down close aboard to relieve ice pressure so the ship can move. The icebreaker then moves slowly ahead so the ship can follow through the broken ice. NGCC = Navire de la Garde Cotiere Canadienne = CCGS Canadian Coast Guard Ship. |
