USS Edson - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - September 28, 2009
 
Former US Navy Forrest Sherman-class destroyer Edson (DD-946) as shown while laid up at the Philadelphia Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility on September 28, 2009. When she was decommissioned in 1988, she became part of the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum in New York City from 30 June 1989 to 14 June 2004. She then went to the NISMF for storage as depicted here. In 2012, she was towed to Bay City, Michigan to become part of the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum.
As a US Navy ship, she did a few fresh water cruises to the Lakes in the 1980s the last being in 1985. When she decommissioned on December 15, 1988, she was the last all-gun destroyer in the United States Navy.
