The 585 foot long midsection for the Mesabi Miner was built at the American Shipbuilding Company Yard at Toledo, Ohio during 1976. This view shows the midsection being towed outbound Maumee Bay bound for the American Shipbuilding Company Yard at Lorain, Ohio. Shortly after arrival the midsection was placed in dry dock where it will be attached to the stern section and the bow section of the vessel. The bow tug is the Ohio and the stern tug is the Georgia. |
